I love Christian music. And no, I don’t mean cringey music. I mean music like NF, Brandon Lake, KB, Hulvey, Forrest Frank, Lauren Daigle, and many more.

Of course these Christian artists write and sing worship music, but it’s different than typical hymns one might sing in church. Sometimes it’s loud, sometimes it’s got a lot of electric guitar, sometimes it’s got drum solos and a fire rap in the bridge.

Sometimes it doesn’t ‘sound’ Christian because it’s such a bop and such a vibe. I think that’s the best kind of music.

I was watching an interview with Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll (they recently did a collab, read about that here) and Jelly Roll said that when he first heard Brandon Lake’s Hard Fought Hallelujah, he didn’t realize it was Christian, and he loved it.

Then he saw it was by a Christian dude who is tatted up (like, a lot) and has long, crazy hair, and Jelly loved it even more because it wasn’t preachy or “typical Christian music.”

Y’all, Christian music is reaching the secular world in an amazing way—Lauren Daigle’s Thank God I Do was on all the radios and music charts for a very long time—I still hear it often! Forrest Frank’s Good Day was number one on the music charts when it came out, God Only Knows by for King and Country was so popular they did about 7 collabs and remixes, there are about a dozen covers of it, and The Truth by Megan Woods was on the Viral 50 chart for the U.S.

And, the singing show American Idol, for Easter, just did a faith-centered night. Everybody sang songs about faith—or that were faith related—including the judges. They brought in Cece Winans, Roman Collins, and Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll performed their smash hit, Hard-Fought Hallelujah on the show.

Christian music is becoming number one.

How amazing is that? Faith is reaching the world with its positive and uplifting lyrics, helping people realize that there is true life and meaning with God.

Now, I’m not making a post about this because Christians need to ‘take over the world.’ That’s not what Christianity is about. It’s about reaching people with the love of God, and even secular shows are being impacted and impacting others with it.

In the past few years, God has been starting a love revolution.

Our goal as Christians isn’t to ‘change’ people, our goal is to love people. And many have been saying that thanks to Christian music, they feel just that! Loved.

I’ve seen and known many people who are non-believers who choose to listen to Christian music because it stands out and is different.

So what’s the next step?

Help Christian music—rap, acoustic, pop, rock, country, folk, R&B, all the genres—reach all who need to hear it. Share encouraging Christian songs on your blog, Instagram, share your Spotify, send songs to friends, find some fun way!
