Daily writing prompt
You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

Fun fact: I have done a cross-country trip, and it was in the car. Actually, I would choose car again! And, another fun fact: I’m doing it again in two-ish months. In the car.

My family was moving from Massachusetts to Washington state and we drove across the country. It was actually really enjoyable, despite the constant butt-aches and screaming little brother. But other than that, we had some really cool experiences!

We went to Yellowstone National Park, Badlands National Park (I highly recommend it!), the world’s only corn palace (I guess that’s what happens when you live in South Dakota), and other really awesome places!

Driving across the country isn’t so bad as long as you have the right playlists, the right people, and stay in non-sketchy looking hotels. (I was blessed to experience a couple of those…and blessed by staying in some really sketchy ones.)

I also learned some awesome things.

First of all: God made the Badlands and he also made Washington state. Do you know just how different those places are? It’s so crazy! It’s really awesome seeing how creative God is.

Second of all: Music is much more entertaining than tv. In the car, we would drive on the same straight road for about five hours through the beautiful (and boring) terrain of Kansas and Nebraska. And although it would get boring at some times, I enjoyed staring out the window and listening to my music. I was vibing, y’all.

A third of all: Never pass up a bathroom break. Like I said in this post, my bladder is reeeeally strong. But I learned that even I can’t wait for hours on end in the car in the middle of literally nowhere.

So yeah, I’d take a car. Also, I’m able to drive and that means that I’m the DJ. Watch out, Dad, you’re going to be hearing a lot of my music soon…
