Do you ever feel like you are never great? Or you are the least greatest?

Well let me tell you something, friend: most of β€˜the greats’ started out as something not great.

Helen Keller: she was both deaf and blind, and she used that to her advantage to make a huge impact, including writing a book and encouraging other deaf, blind, and deaf-and-blind people. But to start out? When she was a child, she kind of had anger management issues and hurt people. But she learned to control that and instead became famous for using her disabilities to make an impact.

Jackie Robinson: living in a segregated world, he was hated by white peopleβ€”baseball players especiallyβ€”but taught everyone that skin color doesn’t make a differenceβ€”everyone bleeds the same. He went on to become a baseball legend.

And in the Bible?

King David: born a small, lowly shepherd, but became the anointed King, and one of Jesus’s descendants. (1 Samuel 16:1-13)

Queen Esther: a Jew, taken from her home to become Queen even though her people (the Jews) were going to be killed. (Esther 2 and 3)

Obviously there are many others who were great but started out the least greatest, and so these are just a few.

So friend, don’t forget: God’s plans are not done yet. You’ve still got a lifetime for him to work out something amazing for you.

Happy Sunday and have a great week!❀️

This was great! You always post such inspiring thingsβ€”it’s honestly one of the reasons I love reading your blog. Actually, you just give great posts in general lol.

Reading this, though, really hit something I’ve been thinking about for a while: I want to do something more meaningful with my blogs.

But I just don’t know how.

I mean, I have seven of them, and yet I still feel like they don’t really do anything for anyone except maybe provide entertainment or some simple knowledge. Which isn’t bad, but after reading so many of your postsβ€”and Bino’s and ShineN’s tooβ€”I just feel like my blogging work isn’t enough. Like, you guys are out here actually helping people, and I’ve been wandering around posting about my fav type of whether lol

Anyway, I’ve been wondering for a while how I can do the same. How I can help people, somehow in my own way. Funny how this post is the one that finally made me realize it 100% lol.

Can I ask what got you into blogging in the first place? Why did you start? What was your goal when you made it? And how on Earth do you always know what to post to be so… well, helpful? How do you know what to say to people?

You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, I’m just curious. But I do know one thing for sureβ€”I really want to do better. I just need to figure out how. And maybe yours (and possibly others) answers will help me find my path 😁

    Hopefully lol

    Either way, great post, Willow!

Thank you, that means a lot!!

Wow, that is a really great question!
Sooo firstβ€”I don’t actually know why I started blogging. I think it was because my writing program (The Young Writer’s Workshop) advised it for young writers. I’ve always loved writing so I wanted to get my writing into the world. And it’s funny because my goal a year ago is very different than my goal is now. My goal a year ago was just to writeβ€”and that’s not a bad thing! But now that I actually have subscribers and people who read my blog, I’ve directed what I write to them versus writing to my blog (because I had line 2 subscribers…my mom and dad lol)

So that’s why and what my goal for my blog was. But now my goal for my blog is kinda what you saidβ€”encouraging people! (And overall sharing what is on my mind.πŸ˜…)

The last two questions: haha, I unfortunately don’t have a great answer…part of the problems/topics are what I’ve heard from peers/friends and I take that topic and switch it into a encouraging post I guess? Aaaand I’ve had a lot of experiences where I was like β€œI’m the only one who feels this way!!!!” And then I talk to friends and find out that almost everybody else feels this way too, so i definitely base a lot of my posts on experiences in my life or friends.
And also I pray a lot about it. Recently my dream has been to go to Bible/missionary school and learn how to actually preach (weird dream for a 16yo girl!πŸ˜‚) and so this is kinda practice for me! So God is helping me out.πŸ™ƒπŸ˜‚

So that’s all I got…I hope it was helpful!! Feel free to ask any questions!😁

      Thanks!

Wow, that’s amazing!! I had a feeling you would make a good preacher! (Did I say that right? Well, you know what I mean lol)

And okay…what do you think is something that would make…you know…Idk lol!

I guess I’ll have to think about it lol But how do you feel when blogging? What is something you like to read/say from others or on your own blog?

(And how on Earth do you make sure this blog theme has multiple pages to go to when you have to many posts on the front page? 🀣)

Thanks! (Oh yeah, you got itπŸ˜‰)

Yeah of course! Hmm, can you rephrase the first question? Not sure I understand lol! The second one: i like reading humor (which you totally have), a lot of spiritual stuff (like Bino’s blog), mental health, teenage life, life’s struggles in general, and a little bit of everything!

(Unfortunately….i did that a year ago and now I have no idea how to do it again🀣I can try to find the button for you! It wasn’t a super hard thing, but lemme do some digging around WordPress lol!!)

            Okay, cool πŸ˜‚

Oops! Sorry lol I meant like, when you write these posts, and just do what you do on this blog, how do you feel afterward? This one is just pure curiosity lol For me, It honestly depends on what I post more than just posting. So how I feel when I make a post and say my words kinda changes daily XD.

Cool! Yes XD I’m glad I got the humor down LOL!

(🀣 It would be greatly appreciated! But you don’t have to if you don’t want to or have time πŸ˜„)

Oh ok, gotcha!! Ooh that’s a good question…I feel proud I guess?? Like, I’ve made another post, wrote another couple hundred words, and then when I receive feedback on it, (good or not good) then I’m glad that someone cared enough to give me feedback! I always want to hear feedback whether or not my readers enjoy my writing. Also excited sometimesβ€”every now and then there’s a post that I personally REALLY love and I’m excited to see what others think lol…and I have one more emotion!! (I keep realizing as I’m typing lol) Hopeful. Just hoping that my words don’t hurt anyone and instead uplift and encourage people.πŸ˜…

I’ll have to tomorrowβ€”I gotta go to church and then I have a bday party I’m going to, but I will! so I’ll comment on your most recent post on how I figured it out!😁

I’m not sure if I am supposed to reply to this, but I was moved by what you wrote. I didn’t realize that my blog was so helpful or encouraging, what you said meant a lot to me!πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ I started my blog as a way to get the stuff in my head on paper to help me sort through my emotions and thought processes, so I didn’t have any particular goal about it, which is why I was both shocked and moved by what you wrote. Anyway, my advice to you would be to read and/or think until something moves you and then write about it! Stuff that comes from the heart is really inspiring even if you don’t have a specific answer about anything or everything, because people can relate to you, sort through their own emotions, and even feel better about themselves.

By the way, this was a great post, Willow! It was just what I needed to hear this morning while I was running out the door. I volunteer in the Special Space at my church which is great and inspiring, but it can also be rough and discouraging depending on the day. Reading your post made me feel brave enough to enquire about being a ministry aide for that classroom, a huge step I was afraid to take. We will see if it all works out, but I wanted to tell you how grateful I was for this post! Do you mind if I re-blog it on my blog?

By the way, this was a mistake. I accidently re-blogged your article to my crochet site instead of my personal blog. Oops! 🀣 I deleted it and it’s on the proper blog now “ShineN Reflections”
