Do you need a break? From what?

You know, sometimes I just wish I could have a break from what life really is.

When I say what it really is, I mean this:

A life full of sin, hurt, confusion, and longing for something you can’t have.

Have y’all ever had that week where nothing goes right and all you want is a break from the drama, the hurt, the problems?

(Well that wasn’t last week if you’re curious.)

It’s just kinda been like that for the past…sixteen years. (Don’t know how old I am? Take a guess…it’s younger than seventeen and older than fifteen. Hope that helps narrow it down a bit. 😉)

But, I’ve learned that the previous definition (my definition) of what life really is, is false!

This is the definition of what God made life to really be:

A life of love, joy, and peace, even when there are trials and hardships.

(The definition was created by the following verses: John 16:33, John 15:11, Hebrews 10:32, 1 John 3:14, Philippians 4:17)

You guys, life isn’t made to be hard. It’s going to be hard, but that doesn’t meant we can’t live it out in the way that Jesus would want us to:

Lovingly, peacefully, and joyfully.

It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to be hurt. It’s okay to wish that it could all stop and you could just rest.

But there’s always something going on in life that is hurting someone. So that’s not what’s going to happen now because that perfect rest is saved for our peaceful eternity.

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NIV‬

Thanks for reading and have a great day!🙃
