We’re about to start the new school year—maybe some of y’all have already started. It’s crazy that we’ve come here already, but I suppose that it’s that time.
As we start this new semester, I’m in awe at the crazy things that will happen this year: I’ll turn eighteen in a few months, this is my last year of high school, there will be big changes with typical life routines and new things that happen once the school year comes to a close (eventually).
But with the new school year, new schedules and habits, new events, new people, and such, there comes something else:
A new chance.
It’s another chance to lean into what God has for us this year. And that’s a blessing, being able to look at our current lives and wonder, “What will you do with me this year, Lord? And how can I live for You as I step into this new season?”
For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.
Psalms 71:5 NIV
This year will be full of changes and blessings. I’m sure that for a lot of us, it will carry some grief too. But we can hope in the sovereign Lord because He is our confidence.
Thanks for reading, I hope and pray that this upcoming school year is full of chances to see the Lord for the loving king He is.
