As you read in the Substack note I posted above, God answered my prayer…with that same prayer.

I love the irony in that, and think it’s so cool that God is truly always working. I’m brought back to John 5 where Jesus replies to the Jewish leaders who were persecuting him.

In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”
John 5:17 NIV

The Lord is truly always working in whatever situations we may be in. It’s been a lesson I’ve always been learning and one that I will likely have to learn til the day I die.

Don’t eliminate your situations and experiences because God will use every moment to shape you.

I was talking with a mentor and friend at my church and we were discussing my passion for ministry. She told me this:

“Every interaction you have will shape you for the day you go into vocational ministry. So don’t forget that your everyday life is a ministry in itself.“

The Lord is constantly and consistently working in our lives and we often forget that He is doing amazing things in the small, simple moments.

Never eliminate yourself from the equation of God’s plan, friend. He is doing more than you can and will imagine.
