Happy end-of-July, everybody. This month has been a bit of a crazy one and we’re not slowing down just because we’re going into August, so let’s jump in to what happened during July.
What did I do?
We started off the month strong with bowling with some friends—and I won. Well actually, I got second place, but the guy who won was an adult so he doesn’t count, right?
Then mid-July, my friend and I went and got our nails done a few hours before our church’s camp drop-off…and then we went to camp. Over the next five days, I experienced so many good things, all of which were amazing reminders of why God brought me here.
At camp, we had different color-themed packs (the high school girls were the Golden Geese) and competed throughout the week to win the first official Together Student Camp Pack Wars. I’m proud to say that during the whole week, the Golden Geese stayed in the top three rankings…and won.

Then this past Tuesday in the wee hours of the morning, I flew to Massachusetts to visit my best friend, Olivia. She and I were FaceTiming a few weeks ago and talking about how she’s moving into her college in August. My bestie’s growing up. So we bought plane tickets the next day and now I’m here! I get back Thursday and I’m so glad we have the chance to visit each other.
That’s about all that’s happened this month, so here is the photo collage and then some pictures from my visit with Olivia (which are not in a collage because I’m updating this on my phone during the trip)!

What did I read?
This week I reread Sunkissed by Kasie West for an annotated book exchange—I’ve been reading it the past couple of weeks and hm…it’s interesting. I have no strong desire to (re)reread it but it was a fun summer read.
I’m currently in the middle of a book called That’s Not How It Happened by Craig Thomas and it’s funny, sad, and a bit too relatable—so go read it.
What did I listen to?
This month has been full of new song discoveries that we can’t seem to get enough of.
- Yahweh by Adohán King
- Inhabit by Lakewood Music
- Roxanne by The Police
- Rock With You by Michael Jackson
- stupid song by Olivia Rodrigo
- fibre of my being by abbilyn
- Let It Out by Motion Worship
- The Time of My Life by Benson Boone
- juliet by JVKE, Bryant Barnes, Emilio Piano
- Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
I have very few new things to add to this, so let’s get on to the next section.
What did I write?
The dreaded question…I’ve actually considered taking it out of these posts (I’m kidding).
I’ve been in the middle of writing a “10 Lies I Believed About Dating” which then became two posts with ten lies each (so twenty lies total) because I asked you guys for suggestions—and there are (unfortunately, if you think about it) a lot of lies we’ve been fooled to believe about dating. I’m in the middle of writing part two and then getting it edited, so sometime mid-August I should post it? (I think? We’ll see, maybe we’ll end up posting it next week—you never know.)
I’m in the middle of drafting my devotional and I am loving it. Fun fact: writing is actually fun if you write and don’t procrastinate.
That’s about all I’ve got, but it’s not too bad, I don’t think.
What happens next?
Well, first off: this Tuesday, I will be at…
THE YOUNG WRITERS RETREAT.
I am so unbelievably stoked—so much fun will be had, many pictures will be taken, and many memories will be made. (And also many writing lessons will be learned.)
You will receive a whole “YWW Retreat Recap” post shortly after and I imagine it will be quite long…so I apologize in advance.
(Also, I apologize: if this post has numerous typos, it’s because like I said—I’m finishing it on my phone. So pardon me and figure it out.)
Then I’m going on a trip to the beach mid-August, celebrating my brother’s 15th birthday, and likely starting school.

How are we at the end of the summer already?! I’m not ready to start my senior year but I am ready for fall weather.
That’s all I got for today’s post—tell me a bit about your July! Any fun summer memories made?
As always, thanks for reading,
Willow
