[Note: WordPress is being glitchy, so if you received a notification about Faith Without Works, apologizes! That’s still in the drafting stage. But here’s the right post for today, a random lil sad poem I wrote a while back and people seemed to enjoy it on the writing community I’m a part of—so I hope you enjoy!]

why take away the goodness of God

to replace it with the goodness of the earth

why tell me to move on

when memories live rent free in my head

why insist that β€œthings will work out”

when all that’s working out is the devil’s plans

why ask how I’m doing

if you’re not going to be there

why make an effort and say you love me

if states apart is too far for love to reach

why even say β€œI’m always here”

if β€œhere” just means memories in my mind

why does my heart live just to die

when all of my time is spent crying over you

why is the only human love I’ve tried to know

the only one that truly let me fall

the death of an enemy and the death of a love

all i know is that it doesn’t come from above

even if you choose to say β€œi give up”

just know that you have been

and always will be

my

first

love.

thank you for the memories and laughs.

you made me smile like none other.

i hope God treats you well.
