We all want to do something amazing. Something huge, fantastic, something that will just wow everybody.
But then, either you or someone else tells you that the tools and skills that you have are too small, they won’t do enough. Writing—too nerdy. Singing—too lame. Sports—too dangerous. Crafting—too useless.
But let me tell you otherwise: in the book of Exodus in the Bible, God comes to Moses and basically tells him, “You have all the tools you need to do amazing things.” (Read Exodus 4:2-5)
God designed us with the ability to do amazing things using simple tools.
So your writing, music skills, crafting skills, and athleticism are not useless—you can use them in your own way to help others.
Here’s a couple examples:
- Sadie Robertson Huff is an author and speaker—she’s changed hundreds of lives with her words.
- Noah Kahan is a musician—and also an advocate for mental health. With his nonprofit, the Busyhead Project, he’s raised over $4 million to help end the stigma around mental health.
- Tim Tebow is a football player in the NFL—he is a big advocate for special needs and for the Christian faith. He is the founder of the special needs prom, A Night to Shine and he’s helped bring others to Christ using his athleticism and connections as tools.
- And as for crafts, well, I’m not well-versed in that area. But hundreds of people use their handiworks to encourage others in cute, simple (as well as not-so-simple) and inspiring ways.
So. What are you going to use your tools for?
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
