Alrighty, we have the winners of the six-word story writing comp!
ARE YOU READY TO SEE WHO WON?!?!
Buuuuut as a quick refresh—since some people might not know what a six-word story (or flash fiction) is, here are some examples (from Pinterest and yours truly) of six-word stories:

So there you have it. Six-word stories. Super short, super simple, but super deep.
Alright. ARE YOU READY TO SEE WHO WON?!?!
Well, first: like I said in my post, there would be two winners if I got 6+ submissions and only one winner if I got five or less. So I’m proud to announce…we have….
TWO WINNERS!!
I got a bunch of submissions which I was super stoked about!
Now, before I announce the winners (for real this time), I want to say this: everybody did a phenomenal job!!! I will actually be doing my honorable mentions and including everyone else’s six-word stories because they’re not whole snippets or poems, so it’s super short. But, there are my lovely winners whose flash fiction will be posted here and I will add them to my lovely writing competition spotlight page. (Be sure to check that out to look at past winners!)
Alright. Now are you ready to see who won?! The first winner…
This six-word story was super relatable and relevant to me! She did a great job and I really loved her story. When I read it, I immediately said, “THAT’S ME! She’s a winner!!”
Let’s give a drumroll please…………
For the amazing…..

GRETCHEN ANDERSON!!!!
Here is Gretchen’s story:
Things to do:
-change my identity
Great job, Gretchen!! You did amazing!
Now, onto the second winner! This writer’s story just HIT me and the first time I read it, I said, “Aw that’s sad.” And then I stopped and reread it. “WAIT. OH MY GOODNESS, STOP IT, THAT’S SO GOOD.”
Now, let’s give a drumroll please….
For the awesome…..
Fantastical…..
And heartbreakingly genius…..
MICHAEL T. HARE!!!!
This was Michael’s six-word story:
“Mommy, can I have a daddy?”
Michael, your stories are always incredible and this one, despite only being six words, was no exception!
Michael and Gretchen—you guys’ stories and photos are now on the Writing Competition Spotlight page!
(Michael, I’ve added to your six-word story to your current page since you’ve won two comps now! Congrats!)
Now before you leave this post—do you want to read everyone else’s stories?!
That’s right—because six-word stories are just, well, six words, I thought it’d be cool to share all of the honorable mentions. And everyone might want to read each other’s too!
Here are the rest of the submissions—everybody did a fantastic job!

Well, that’s it for today!
Congrats to the winners, great job to everybody who joined, and thanks for participating!
Have a great week!
