Okay you guys! We’ve got another writing competition! This one is a bit different so be sure to read every single word to get all the details!
First off: what is a six-word story? It is a story that is a mere six words. You’ve probably heard the micro-fiction piece, “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” It tells a short story but leaves the rest up to the imagination of the reader. Honestly, most of the time they are sad, but they don’t have to be.
Here is a list of examples from Pinterest:

Rules, Guidelines, and Info:
1. Keep it clean—sad stories are absolutely allowed, but no inappropriate, sexual, explicit content. Contact me here if you are unsure whether or not it is appropriate.
2. Six words only, no more no less! Hyphenated words count as a single word. (Ice cream, two words. Well-known, one word.)
3. If your story is just six words broken into six sentences like, “Broken. Shattered. Healed. Mended. Forgiven. Loved.” then I will not be accepting it. Please look at these examples for clarification! I ask that each ‘sentence’ (words separated by periods) have at least two words. (Example: He hit send. Then a tree.) Feel free to contact me if you are unsure. (:
4. Deadline is August 19th: you have one week to write and submit your six-word story!
Any questions? Please contact me!
If I receive more than 6+ submissions, there will be two winners instead of one. So share with your friends, tell them to submit, and gain chances of winning!
What do you win? Bragging rights, your story posted on my blog, and your spot on my writing competition spotlight page! And it’s fun! (:
What am I looking for? A story that gives me the chance to think! Take that as you will, but since they’re only six words, there’s not much I’m looking for!
When’s the deadline? The last day to submit is August 19th! This form will be closed on August 20th and I will post winners on August 21st.
I’m excited to see your stories! Now go and write!!
