Do you ever doubt? Maybe your faith, your relationships, school or your career, maybe even your writing.

Y’all, doubt is hard. It’s a hard thing to feel, especially when it comes to something we are passionate about.

I’ve learned that doubt is not just a feeling, it’s also a battle. And battles—well, you can’t fight them alone.

If you are doubting your passion—whether it’s music, writing, sports, and all that’s in between—let me tell you this: your passion is freaking awesome. And if you are doubting how good you are at your passion, let me tell you this: you are freaking awesome.

Now, doubt is a tool that the devil uses to try to eliminate us from the race. (Read 2 Timothy 4:7-8) Satan uses it to say, “You’re not good enough for yourself, for others, and especially for God. Your passions are useless and so are you.”

It might sound stupid in writing, but when you actually hear it for yourself—man, it hurts like heck.

Well I am here to tell you something: your passions and your faith and you are not useless, doubt is a battle you can’t fight alone, and I believe you can fight this battle.

If you think that your doubt extinguishes your faith, you’re wrong. Doubt is not the absence of faith but rather the struggle with it.

Your doubt doesn’t define you and it doesn’t define your passions.

So how do we fight this crazy battle with doubt?!

Well, say this out loud. Yes. You heard me. Say it: my passions are important. I am important. And doubt does not define me, my passions, or my faith.

Now that you’ve said it (and I really hope you actually said it), I want you to live it. There’s a verse in James that says faith without works is dead. This goes for your religious faith and the faith you have in yourself.

How can you live this out? Take that passion—writing, singing, sports, etc—and use it. Do it to help others, have fun, and most importantly: show yourself that you matter. (It’s also a nice feeling to shove the devil’s words back in his face, y’know, like, “TAKE THAT!”)

You got this!! I believe in you!

You and your passion are unbelievably valuable! Don’t let doubt get in the way.

Have a great Sunday! Thanks for reading.
