Happy Sunday y’all! I’m so sorry, this post might have been forgotten in the crazy whirlwind called “moving” and “unpacking,” but it’s here! So forgive me for the typos and I hope you enjoy.🙃
What is your dream?
When I was younger, I had dreams galore. I wanted to have a million kids, adopt a million kids, be a singer or musician, become an author, get married young, be famous, ride horses, be a chef, be an actress, and so much more. Y’all, I had big plans and I wanted to make them happen.
Of course, these things didn’t happen. (Except for the author one, and I’ll get to that in a minute.) As I grew older, I started to realize, “I don’t need all of this,” and “I can’t make every single dream happen.”
That doesn’t mean I stopped dreaming. (Look at my Pinterest—I am a huge dreamer…) But I started to realize what was more important to me. Did I want to be famous? Did I want a million kids? Was I sure that these things were for me?
Eventually I learned: they’re not.
But one of those things was for me. Becoming an author. I had wanted to become an author before I turned 18, but I didn’t make that a priority. I just wanted to be an author.
Instead I began writing. And God took me places where I learned that writing is my true passion and he’s helped me to realize: he’s got a plan for me with this writing.
Our dreams are not useless to God. Actually, he really loves hearing you talk about your hopes for the future, your passions and aspirations. He might not make all of them come true, but he will make some of them.
And with your talents and dreams and skills, he’s going to use you to love others and grow his heavenly kingdom.
So—talk to God about your dreams. He wants to hear them and you might see in the future that, if they align with God’s plan, some of those dreams are going to come true.
“However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—”
1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV
I hope this encouraged you! (Sorry for the delay, typos, and most likely a post that doesn’t make sense.😉)
