People bring me joy.

It doesn’t take much to make me happy: in my life, happiness is often attained by the time spent with my friends.

The other day I had friends over, we had a fire and made s’mores, and just hung out. It was probably the easiest hangout ever. Two hours of laughter, chatting, eating, taking pictures, and doing who knows what, we had a blast!

And it brought me joy. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Joy isn’t that hard to attain.

My mom, a couple summers ago, asked me and my brother to make a list of things that bring us joy. “Call it your Joy List,” she’d said. It could be big things, like traveling to visit friends, or small things, like a jar of flowers on the table.

So we made a list, and I’ll be honest, mine was pretty long. And guess what? Over half of those things were very easily acquirable. Here is some of my list:

  1. Listening to music
  2. Shopping
  3. Going to Trader Joe’s
  4. Going to Barnes & Noble
  5. Being home alone
  6. Being with friends
  7. Calling my bestie
  8. Showers
  9. Naps
  10. Concerts
  11. Going to the beach
  12. Campfire and s’mores
  13. Boba tea
  14. Doing my nails
  15. Traveling
  16. Holding babies
  17. Bowling
  18. Playing games with family

Y’all, almost all of these things are easy to make happen.

Now you might be wondering, “WHAT IS THIS JOY LIST FOR?!”

Well it’s to help you find things that make you happy so that you can be happy. Once you realize “Oh wait, I love doing this!” then you are more likely to do it more to make yourself happy. And I bet you’ll find some easy things on your list!

Anyways, to close off this post: go find things that bring you joy! And comment the easy activities that might go on your joy list. ๐Ÿ˜‰
