Daily writing prompt
What is your career plan?

I don’t have a career plan, per se, but I do know what I want to do in my future. It’s a future that has kind of been revealed to me recently in the past few months, and I’m sure that it’s what God has in store. Of course, I can’t be 100% sure, but I certainly am hopeful that that’s His plan!

So what is this future, this ‘plan?’

Well, I know that teaching and writing devotionals is my dream.

And lately, that dream has been coming true.

With my pastor asking me to preach at youth group and my blog, I’ve learned that my passion is teaching and writing about Christianity. Of course, saying that my passion is teaching implies that I’ve done it before.

And I…haven’t.

(But I’m pretty sure that the shampoo bottles would disagree–they’ve heard all my ‘teachings’ dozens of times.)

But all jokes aside, while my public speaking skills are not at their peak today, that doesn’t mean that they won’t be in, say, a year. My goals for my last two years of high school are to learn how to public speak well, interact with strangers better, and to write content that is enjoyed by both adults and teens, Christians and non-Christians.

But this goal–this might take some time. It could be a year, it could be five years. But I know that this is what is in store for me.

So in answer to the prompt, my career plan at the moment is to work to that career dream. Take classes in high school so that when the time comes for graduation, I am ready to make my hopes happen.

But I know that no matter what happens to my plans, God’s got his plan for me written down in Sharpie and it’s going to happen in the way it was planned to happen. My future is secure, even if it may be unexpected.

‘Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be. ‘
Job 8:7 NIV
