Happy Easter Sunday everybody! I just wanted to take the time to share a quick post on the story of Easter, and I’d love to hear what y’all’s plans are! So comment what you and your family is doing today to celebrate. 🙃

You may have not heard the story of Easter before, so I’d love to share it with you!

So every year, Christians celebrate Easter Sunday because it marks the day when Jesus—after he was crucified and buried for three days—was risen from the grave. Easter is a day for celebration, for praising God for the sacrifice of Jesus, and for thanking God for the grace we are given.

Not a lot of people know how Easter was first begun, but if you are curious to read more, I recommend you check out Matthew 28, which is where Jesus is risen from the dead. (I also recommend checking out Matthew 21, where the first events of Holy Week begin.)

Now, Easter these days is full of candy, eggs, and rabbits. Of course, nothing is wrong with those things! (I really loved them when I was in elementary and middle school.) But as we get older, I recommend thinking about what you are celebrating: a candy-giving, chocolate-loving, egg-gathering bunny, or a dead-raising, life-giving, redemption-giving God?
