“The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.”

Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

“Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked.

“Come and see,” said Philip.”

Three words: that’s all it took for Philip to convince Nathanael to meet Jesus. And not even a week later, he became a new disciple of Jesus.

I think that it’s so cool that he used this little phrase, something that could be used as a “don’t believe me? I dare you to check it out,” kind of phrase. (In fact, it may have been, we’ll never know until we get to heaven!)

But I think that Philip was inviting Nathanael rather than bribing or daring him. Saying, “Just take a look. I want you to see the goodness that I see.”

These three words change Nathanael’s life. And they can change yours as well.

So I ask you this question…will you come and see what God has to offer you?

Because I assure you, he has more than you could ever dream. And no, this is not a bribe or a dare.😉 It’s an invitation.

So.

Come and see, friend. Come and see.
