In February 2023, at Asbury University in Kentucky, there was a revival. And it was all over the news. People traveled from around the world to see what was going on and to experience it themselves. And that is how a sixteen-day worship service began.
I vaguely remember hearing my mom and grandpa talk about it when it was happening, but it was two years ago so I don’t remember all that they talked about. Then, it came up again when I watched Gather25 (it was in this video). I was particularly interested because recently I’ve done a few posts involving faith and Gen Z, and their impacts on each other.
I went to the Asbury University website and they have over a dozen different news articles from other sources about the Asbury Outpouring and its impact on the world. I highly recommend checking out a handful of them, it’s interesting to read about it from non-Christian sources!
This story really inspired me as I realized that there are many accounts of colleges holding events like these and slowly but surely changing the lives of college students. I don’t think that this would have happened 100 years ago, but now that it has, I think it will make a mark on people for years to come.
And hopefully…It will happen again.
We are seeing more testimonies of life changing moments like this. It’s clear that the Holy Spirit is at work in these young adults lives to change the world.
