I went to A Night to Shine on Friday night and y’all—it was amazing! Here is a picture of me and my guests (whose names I’m not sharing for their privacy. And I also had their permission to post this photo.)

Unfortunately, I did not get to meet Tim Tebow (he wasn’t there…the dude has a busy life) but that’s okay because it was a blast either way!
They had music, good food, dessert tables spread around the building, and limo rides!
One of the best parts of the night was that everybody was happy. It was such an uplifting night, for the guests and for the volunteers!
Everywhere you walked, whether you were in sweatpants and a t-shirt or a prom dress, people would compliment you like you were Miss America. (What’s the dude equivalent??)
“Oh I love your pants! They’re blue! Blue’s your favorite color too?! No way! My favorite color is blue!!”
“Your dress is so pretty! You look like a princess!”
“You’ve gotten taller since I’ve seen you last. How tall are you, 5’10?” (That one was from a man I’ve never met.)
“Wow, you look hot! *wolf-whistle*”
Everybody was so kind. The guests were so happy and probably some of the nicest people I’ve ever met—they didn’t judge you for wearing Crocs with a prom dress or for wearing jeans instead of a suit. They were just glad you were here!
Y’all, if you ever have a Night to Shine near you, you should volunteer. You will not regret it!
