There’s a Psalm I was reading last night and it says this: ‘You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book. ‘
Psalms 56:8 MSG

Y’all, this verse is so beautiful. It literally means that God knows, God sees every tear you cry and every time you hurt. And the tears entered in his ledger, every ache written in his book? He’s not letting them go to waste—he is using every cry for a reason.

When your grandma dies, you learn how to grow after grief.

When your best friend leaves you, you learn how to make new friends.

When you go through pain of any kind, you learn how to adapt.

And even though the pain in the moment sometimes feels unbearable, you will see that it has a greater purpose.
