Hey y’all! Sorry I’m a few days late, I was trying to spread out posts instead of having a bunch on the same day because then I wouldn’t have any others. 😅

First of all, if you haven’t read my post about my secular music fast of February, check it out before you continue reading this one!

I said I’d do a review of what happened and such, so here we go!

What happened? I stopped listening to secular, non-Christian music. So I said bye-bye to JVKE (I’ll talk about him in a second), Benson Boone, David Kushner, Noah Kahan, Connor Price, Teddy Swims, Jude Barclay and more.

How did it impact me? Well, I noticed that I didn’t use profane words (in my mind) as much. I still accidentally did when I did something really really bad like stubbing my pinky toe in the corner of the wall, or almost crashing my dad’s car into a truck. But mostly other than that, we good.

Did I like it? Yeah! At first it was hard. I had a hard time the first few days, not choosing to play my non-Christian playlists, but eventually I forgot they existed and only listened to my Christian playlists. (Luckily I have about six or so Christian playlists.)

Would I do it again? Yep. I might start taking a secular music-fast every other month. We’ll see!

Now, one final question…did I choose secular music at all? Again…yep. I chose a couple Noah Kahan, David Kushner, and JVKE songs in the car with my mom and brother, but that was only a couple times.

And the other time? Well, hear me out: on Spotify they have a playlist called Radar Release. Every Friday it’s updated because of New Music Friday, when artists release new songs. Well, Radar Release is a playlist that updates with artists you follow and their new songs. And a bunch of people including Benson Boone, JVKE, Teddy Swims, David Kushner, and Connor Price released new music. (David Kushner released a whole new album!)

Well, that was really hard for me because these dudes had new music. And so I was tempted…I listened to Benson Boone’s new song Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else, and the beginning of David Kushner’s song Breathe In, Breathe Out. Aaaand, the most shameful of all…I listened to JVKE’s new single pretty. But I have a good excuse for that one!

JVKE’s song pretty is a great song and its lyrics are so pretty too! (I’m just making excuses, y’all.) But seriously, check it out.

Well, that’s the review of what happened this February. I recommend doing this! (Hopefully you’ll do a better job than I did.)

Thanks for reading!

I personally have never done it, but I’m thinking on doing it this year! It’s not just Catholic and Orthodox, I know a bunch of Christians of different denominations doing it!

Ooh, sounds like a great (and very brave!) choice! I wish you good luck. XD
