I’ve received a lot of gifts, and some were really good while others were not-so-good. (Have you ever gotten underwear for your 9th birthday?)

I’ve also received a very special gift…a key into heaven.

That one is the biggest gift I’ve ever received. The freedom that comes with the Gospel is something that no other object or person can take away, and it’s written in James that all these good gifts, physical, spiritual, or whatever, they come from God.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Y’all, life itself is a huge gift from a huge God.

What I think is so cool is that God is a giver. He’s one of those people who loves to give you gifts, and he’s good at it. He’s not gonna get you underwear for your birthday, but he’s gonna get you good friends, a good church, a good perspective on the world we live in.

And that is the greatest gift I’ve ever received.☝️
