There’s this form of Japanese art called Kintsugi, and it’s beautiful. (Read what Wikipedia has to say about it here.) It’s literally a broken piece of pottery, and is put back together with gold. Here is an example of Kintsugi pottery:

Now, this pottery can be nice without the gold, but that’s not what makes it beautiful, unique, or special. For one, the gold takes a steady hand to paint each crack and piece, and it takes time.

This form of art is a beautiful replica of God and his caring work on us. When we break down into millions of little pieces, he gently picks us up and puts our pieces back together, filling us with gold.

I was looking on Pinterest for a Kintsugi image that I liked, and I actually saw some images of Christ making Kintsugi out of us. Here is an example that I saw:

Isn’t that a beautiful image? (In all honesty, Jesus looks a wee bit creepy but I love the idea and what it’s portraying.)

To be healed, you have to be broken first. And we’re all broken, I think we can all agree on that. Now, some of us may be in a time of healing, some may be about to go through a time of healing, but this is what our completion will look like. It will show our scars, but they will be made beautiful.

Isaiah 53 says this:
‘But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. ‘ Isaiah 53:5
