So I went to youth group last night and was hanging out with one of the youth pastors, Matthew. Matthew is the middle school pastor, but he’s going to be transferring to do high school as well for some complicated reasons that aren’t important unless you go to my church. So, because of that reason, he’s been hanging out at the high school youth group to get the feel of us wacko high schoolers.

Well, Matthew and I are friends on the Bible App and we have been for a year. He sees all the notes I’ve made (750) and every time I see him says something along the lines of, “What are you reading Willow?? Dude you’re so active in God’s word!! It’s crazy!! Ah, you’re so encouraging to me.”

Well last night, he asked me if I’d be interested in teaching at the youth group sometime. To the high schoolers. I freaked out because I don’t love being onstage and having tons of attention on me, but I really love the idea of learning how to preach and all that stuff.

So I told him, “Sure!” He said he’d reach out to me about their summer plans for a youth group Bible study and hopefully I’d be able to lead and teach a couple messages.

Matthew finished off with, “Yknow, it’s super encouraging to see a teenager reading her Bible and being so into it, yknow? Like, I really can’t wait to see what you’re going to do when you’re an adult.”

Which led into our next topic: then he asked me if I was interested in going to Bible school after high school. To be honest, I haven’t put much thought into college yet (I’m a sophomore) but I have thought a lot about Bible school.

I have a cousin who went to Bible school, a cousin who is going to YWAM (Youth With A Mission) to Thailand in spring, and both my uncle and my grandfather are pastors, so I have a handful of people to talk to about resources and schools!

After I told Matthew I’d be interested in that, he said to call him when I’m almost out of high school, we’ll talk, and he’ll give me a handful of schools and help for that!

So not only do I possibly get to teach at my youth group, but I have a pastor supporting me and helping me out with college choices. Never thought either of those things would happen, to be honest!

So all in all, that’s a huge praise! It’s so cool to see God working in your life, isn’t it??
