A few days ago my mom texted me a screenshot of an event she thought I might want to volunteer at. It’s called A Night to Shine, and was founded by Tim Tebow about five years ago.

A Night to Shine is a prom for special needs individuals, and it’s hosted all around the U.S. so that they have a chance to go to prom.

Every year, they need volunteers to make this event possible and enjoyable, and they have a variety of different positions to sign up for!

You can sign up to be a buddy, meaning you get assigned to a Guest of Honor and you hang out with them the whole night (which is what I signed up for), you can help with food, security, decorations, paparazzi (they take pictures of the guests coming down the red carpet), and a handful of other stuff!

Although I’ll be volunteering, it’ll also be a chance for me to go to prom which is super exciting because I’m homeschooled and have a very very rare chance of going to prom. And honestly, I’d rather go to this prom over a public school prom with a friend, so it works out perfectly! A couple of friends are going to be volunteering as well so I’m very excited. 😄

Fun fact: Tim Tebow has come to Night to Shine events in the past, greeting the Guests of Honor at the red carpet…I’m kinda crossing my fingers that he’ll be there at the one I’m attending because that’d be super cool!
