If youโre like me, you likely freak out if your phone battery drops below 40% when youโre out of the house. This doesnโt happen too often for me since I donโt tend to use my phone that much out of the house, but when it does happen, I kinda get worried. (When I started writing this, my phone was at 37%โฆbut weโll ignore that.)
Anywho. If weโre so concerned about our electronic battery, why arenโt we so concerned about our spiritual battery?
Often I find that my spiritual battery is either dying very quickly without me knowing, or it is dead without me knowing, and Iโve met many others who say the same thing.
So, how do we keep our spiritual battery full?
Well, number one tip, is pray. In 1 Kings 3, God tells Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted. Instead of asking for riches, or women, or success, or good looks, he asked for wisdom. One of the verses says, โThe Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this.โ (1 Kings 3:10) Asking God for wisdom or guidance is an amazing request, and God will be so pleased that you thought to ask for that. God wants to give you wisdom. So pray, and ask for ways to learn how to recharge your battery.
Number two: read Scripture. Often I find reading Godโs word can regenerate me when I am spiritually drained. (Luke 11:12)
Number three: take a walk. Enjoy and think about Godโs beautiful creation! Itโs a good, simple reminder of the things He constantly does for us. (Lamentations 3:22-24)
And number four is this: praise. Even when itโs hard, even when itโs โboringโ, even when youโre not sure whether itโs praiseworthy or not, PRAISE GOD. It puts your mindset into a place that lives to gratify God, sees His goodness around you, and knows that even if itโs not good now, it will be soon. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
I hope this helps for when your spiritual battery is running low! Thanks for reading.๐
