Hey y’all! I’m reposting a post from a blog I’m subscribed to called BINØ’s Blog (check it out, it’s really cool!) that I really loved and found overall awesome.
So, Bino talks about how youth of this world is literally brainwashed from social media and cell phones. I highly recommend reading his post, it was very eye-opening, especially from a teenager, which is so hard to find nowadays!
You can check it out HERE.
(And when you’re done reading it, subscribe to his blog!)
As an add-on, I also recommend reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathon Haidt. It was published in 2024 and talks about the history and evolution of phone usage as well as social media’s impact. Haidt’s book has had such an incredible influence on schools and parents, and it’s amazing to see what people are realizing after reading it!
I’m sixteen, and reading Haidt’s book changed my perspective and opened my eyes to a whole other world, one that could happen if teenagers weren’t so focused on screens, social media, and were focused on people, outside interactions, and living in the present instead of their screen.
Teens (including myself) have literally forgotten how to interact with each other and don’t know how to just sit there! Now, their first instinct is to pull out their phone and…scroll. And scroll some more. And some more.
So check out BINØ’s post and read The Anxious Generation!
Thanks for reading, and make sure to check out BINØ’s post and his blog!
Have a great day. 🙃
