Like I said in my post yesterday, my family is getting ready for a trip across the country to see family for Christmas. Right now it’s 4:10 AM (too early for my taste) but I am SO ready. Like, all packed up, dressed, super excited, all the works.

I personally love flying on airplanes. I really like heights if I’m safe. And I’ll be safe on this plane, cause the pilot is a professional, he’s done this tons of times, he knows what he’s doing! But honestly? I’m essentially trusting said pilot with my life. That’s a lot. In fact, how can I trust a sinful, imperfect human being with my whole life, if I can’t even trust the perfect, loving, knowing, all-powerful God?

It’s messed up, right?

And these pilots, they make mistakes! But you know who doesn’t make mistakes?

The Big Guy up there.☝️Who’s even higher above the airplanes and Who loves us and takes care of us.

But where’s the proof? Where can we trust that God is guiding our plane in the right direction?

Well, I’m glad you asked!

Psalm 20:7 (NIV) says this: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

What are your chariots and horses? Do you trust them more than you trust the Lord our God?

In Exodus, when they were being led out of Egypt, the Israelites were terrified because Pharaoh had sent his army to bring them back to be his slaves. The Israelites immediately lost their faith, but Moses (after being told by God) said this to them:“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”” (Exodus 14:14 NIV)

God’s gonna fight for you. You don’t need to do anything big or dramatic or be perfect. You just need to have a little bit of faith and let God do the rest. (Mark 4:30-32)
