(Don’t worry. I’m not gonna be one of those people who worries and rants and has a whole freaking blog post just about their dog. I’m actually gonna get to a cool point in the end.)

Alrighty, so at the moment my family is getting ready for a trip! We’re gonna fly across the country to visit family for Christmas. The only thing is, my dog (a mini schnauzer, in case you’re curious) can’t come (which is totally fine with me, I would not wanna fly with her.)

But when she sees us getting out suitcases and running around the house packing and getting out bags we never use, she starts to become a total BUTT. Capital-b butt. She gets all under our feet and follows us around and won’t just CHILL OUT.

She’s so worried because this isn’t something normal for us (or her). Little does she know, she’s going to spend two weeks at some lady’s house and be totally SPOILED. That dog is going to be in literal heaven (except for the fact that she won’t have my mom, who’s her favorite person.) The lady she’s staying with loves dogs and so Hazel (my dog) will be perfectly happy.

But she doesn’t know what’s going on. And that uncertainty freaks her out, right? Like anyone who doesn’t know what’s going on, it’s a weird and kinda scary feeling.

Well, (I told ya I was getting to a point at some point) God tells us that we don’t have to worry about the future or what’s to come. Did you know that the phrase ‘fear not’ is repeated 365 times in the Bible? That’s one for every single day.

Isaiah 41:3: “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’”

Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Judges 6:23: “But the Lord said to him, ‘Peace! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die.’”

Isaiah 44:2: “This is what the Lord says–he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob, my servant.”

And as we approach Christmas, we can find peace in the hope and trust that God is coming again with our futures in his hands as he rescues us all.
