About a year ago, my church had a speaker come and, well, speak about a really cool non-profit organization he had built.

His name was Dave Navarra and as a teenager (around 17) in his senior year (in 2006), he wanted to share the love of God to everyone. He started in the house of his brother (I think) and it grew to be a worldwide organization! So, what was this organization, and what was so cool about it?

He started making buttons. Like, little pins that you can clip onto your shirt, or a backpack, or your shoes, or anything, really. They are red with the words “You Are Loved” on the front. It’s simple. So simple, but it changed lives!

He started ordering these buttons in huge boxes, and then shared them with his friends at school, who passed them around to their friends, and so on! Some of the teenagers had creative ways of sneaking them into friends’ pockets, backpacks, one kid even put them in his friend’s gauged earrings!

But what about these buttons changed lives? Well, it was the three words on it. Many teens don’t feel loved, and if they do, it’s not the kind of love they really need to fill the hole in their heart. On the back of the button was a website, youarelovedby.com

It prompted people to ask, “Who loves me?” So they’d visit the link and read about the teenager who started this and, more importantly, read about the Man who died for them. I encourage you to read about it here!

My church bought hundreds of these buttons and passed baskets filled with them around the sanctuary. They told us to each take three. One for you, two for you to pass on. Give it to a friend, a random person, in the tip jar at a coffee shop, drop it somewhere in a store, or discreetly slip it into someone’s pocket. Find a way to get creative with it!

It just shows a few really cool things:

1. You can use or do anything as simple and small as a button to share the Gospel.
2. It doesn’t matter how old you are.
3. Something so insignificant can become a life-changing experience.
